Israel attacked Beirut, the south, and the east of Lebanon, killing over 120 people.

Hezbollah in Lebanon calls on Israelis to leave border regions as Israel keeps bombing the nation.

News,

The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health reports that at least 123 people have died as a result of Israeli attacks on Lebanon this week. Hezbollah warned Israeli citizens to flee towns within 5 kilometers (3 miles) of their northern border, in one of the most intense fronts in the larger US-Israel war on Iran.

A ministry statement on Thursday stated, "The toll from the Israeli onslaught on Monday... climbed to 123 martyrs and 683 wounded."

Israel launched airstrikes on many villages in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese official television early on Friday.

The official National News Agency (NNA) stated that "enemy jets launched nocturnal strikes on the towns of Srifa, Aita al-Shaab, Touline, as-Sawana, and Majdal Selem."

According to the NNA, another strike occurred at morning in the town of Douris in eastern Lebanon.

Less than a day after Israel threatened residents of Beirut's southern suburbs with evacuation, Hezbollah sent out a call for people to leave the border areas. This led to a massive exodus from Dahiyeh, a densely populated district of the capital that is home to about 500,000 people.

According to the Israeli army, there have been 26 rounds of attacks in Dahiyeh. It claims to have deployed drones to attack a number of Hezbollah-related facilities, such as the Executive Council's offices and a warehouse.

Hezbollah declared, "Your military's attack against Lebanese sovereignty and safe residents, the devastation of civilian infrastructure, and the deportation campaign it is carrying out will not go unnoticed."

Hezbollah took credit for a series of attacks on Israeli ground forces early on Friday, including those that had recently invaded Lebanon.

Hezbollah claimed in a Telegram post that its fighters had attacked Israeli forces in a number of locations inside Lebanese territory, including Maroun al-Ras and Kfar Kila.

According to the statement, Hezbollah also bombed a navy base in Israel's port of Haifa and Israel's Yoav military camp in the occupied Golan Heights.

Casualties were not immediately reported.

Israel has stated that it will not evacuate its border towns and has increased the number of soldiers in Lebanon, citing this as a defensive move to safeguard its neighboring citizens.

On the other hand, tens of thousands of residents in Lebanon have left their homes due to Israeli threats, leaving the southern suburbs of Beirut "nearly vacant," according to the NNA.

After being evacuated during an Israeli-Hezbollah conflict in 2024, hundreds of displaced families were forced to seek refuge on a beach in Beirut, where they waited hopelessly, many of them for the second time.

"We are not animals."

People looking for refuge may be spotted "by the side of the highways on nearly every corner," according to Zeina Khodr, reporting from Beirut, and the humanitarian catastrophe is worsening quickly.

"After Israel threatened to compel the displacement of hundreds of thousands of people from Beirut's southern suburbs yesterday, there are not enough schools to house them," she stated.

"We are human beings, not animals, and our kids are cold," people tell us.

The Lebanese government, she said, has opened several shelters and advised people to move to the country's north.

"But many do not have any means of transportation," Khodr continued. The southern suburbs of Beirut are home to Syrian and Palestinian refugees in addition to Lebanese.

Hezbollah began fire on Monday, drawing Lebanon into the Middle East conflict. Israeli airstrikes targeted southern and eastern Lebanon as well as the southern suburbs of Beirut.

Israel launched a series of airstrikes late on Thursday and into Friday in the southern suburbs of Beirut and other regions as the conflict has reignited hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah members who are aligned with Iran.
